Privacy notice
This is the notice for the Latch waitlist: the page where you paste a wallet, get a card and claim a place in line. It is a plain-language draft and has not been reviewed by a solicitor yet. It will change before launch.
What we collect
- Wallet addresses you paste, connect or sign with. They are public on-chain data. We read the trades of those wallets from a data provider (Zerion) to work out your card.
- Your X handle, exactly as you type it. We don't check it against X and we don't ask you to sign in to X.
- A signature from each wallet on the card, to show it's yours. It is a free message. It moves nothing and gives us no access to your funds.
- Your email, only if you enter it and tick the box that lets us email you.
- Your region, as a country code taken from your connection. We use it to decide whether to show the referral line.
- Survey answers, only if you open the optional survey (run on Tally) from your card. The link carries your card code, so we can read your answers next to your card's figures. Opened any other way, the survey isn't linked to anything.
- A hashed IP address. We mix your IP with a secret value and keep only the result, to count requests and stop abuse. We don't store your IP address itself.
- Page visits, counted by Vercel Web Analytics: the page, the site that sent you, your country, and your browser and device type. It sets no cookies and doesn't identify you.
Why
- To make your card and show it at its link.
- To give you a place in line and move you up when friends join, where referrals are allowed.
- To email you when your spot opens, if you asked us to.
- To keep the service working and stop one person from using up the daily request limits.
- To decide what Latch builds, from survey answers.
- To see how many people visit and where they come from.
What the card shows
Once you claim a card, anyone with its link can see it: your handle, the percentage of wins you kept, your diagnosis, your best trade's symbol and, unless you chose to hide amounts, the dollar figures. Hidden amounts are removed on our server before the page or image is made. Your wallet addresses are not shown on the card.
How long we keep it
[To be set with legal review.] Unclaimed scans and signing requests expire within a day. Claimed cards and waitlist entries stay until the waitlist closes or you ask us to delete them. Rate-limit records are deleted after two days.
Who sees it
Zerion receives the wallet addresses we look up. Our database and hosting providers store what we collect. We don't sell your data.
Your choices
You can ask to see, correct or delete what we hold about you, and withdraw consent to emails at any time. Contact: [contact address to be added].
